He speaks about the incomprehensible disasters in Rwanda, where he recently visited, and in Haiti, where he and his wife Vera lived and worked for almost 10 years. She has an M.S.Ed from Northwestern University and is pursuing a doctorate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dilara serves on the Boards of KidsMatter (www.kidsmatter2us.org) and the Mohammed Webb Foundation (www.webbfound.org), and is on the Education Committee of the Islamic Center of Naperville. She has spoken internationally on topics of education, youth development, and community service.
